Sheila Klein, visual artist, straddles the worlds of Art and Architecture. Klein has been called "Chief Retranslator of Everyday Objects and a manipulator of familiar and archetypal images."
Klein conceptualized and installed Vermonica on the corner of Vermont and Santa Monica Boulevard back in 1993. She incorporates the intimate domestic scale of candlesticks into an Urban Candelabra for the household of the street. Vermonica seeks to uncover romantic truths about the city. By accenting one overlooked layer of our environment, Klein encourages further consideration of all our urban layers.
